Real life. Real Guidance.
A Balanced Way Forward.
Approach and Philosophy
– practical empathy
Practical empathy is about understanding what it really means to be human — handling life in ways that are smart, realistic and kind. With us, you won’t just sit and talk; you’ll roll up your sleeves and deal with the real stuff, not some polished Instagram version of what a person should be.
With decades of experience in management development and coaching, both Alan and Michael have clocked well over the magic 10,000 hours. Think of them as partners helping you regain balance and get back on track when life feels heavy. Stress, work pressure and family tension can build up — they’ll help you clear the clutter, reset and move forward with confidence.
Your coaching will focus on one or more of four key areas:
Emotional control – responding instead of reacting.
Quality relationships – keeping your connections with family, children, friends and colleagues honest and grounded.
Physical wellbeing – staying fit enough to meet life head-on.
Professional adaptability – staying capable and confident in a world that’s always changing.
The approach is built on care, respect and the belief that everyone has the ability to maintain balance. It’s an ongoing process — like tuning an instrument or maintaining a high-performance system: when you check in, make adjustments and nurture it regularly, it runs smoothly; when you neglect it, challenges build up. Every session is confidential and judgment-free — a safe space where every person, in all their imperfections is fully understood.
About Alan and Michael
Between them, Alan and Michael bring over 50 years of experience helping people grow — in boardrooms, businesses and beyond. Their work in executive coaching and leadership development has shown that life and leadership share the same foundations: balance, resilience and trusting yourself when the path isn’t clear.
Both are fathers (and happy to say friends) to now adult children; previous times saw them juggling work, family and the inevitable curveballs life throws at you. The best lessons they've found, come from the reflection and discussion around the moments that didn't quite go to plan.
After careers spanning global corporations and local businesses, they chose independence over hierarchy and genuine connection over corporate gloss. Outside work, they have enjoyed a lifetime of outdoor activity, good food and wine, and have spent endless days having honest, funny and often raw conversations that shape how they coach and live.
Now their focus is helping you define success on your own terms — the kind that feels steady, grounded and real.
Two-Gen is their legacy; a way of passing on the experience they’ve gained in life and work — a bridge between generations of parents, leaders and people navigating real life with all its challenges and lessons. A conversation that for many is sadly not easily accessible.
The wisdom that really matters isn’t found in books or seminars — it’s discovered between wrong turns and hard-earned realisations.
How You Can Benefit
Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual — and if it did, half the pages would probably be missing. That’s where coaching comes in.
You’ll work one-to-one with Alan or Michael in confidential, practical sessions focused entirely on your challenges, opportunities and goals. Each conversation is honest, grounded and built around what truly matters to you.
You can strengthen one or more of these areas:
Emotional mastery – responding rather than reacting.
Quality relationships – keeping your connections strong and real.
Physical wellbeing – staying fit in body and mind.
Professional adaptability – staying capable and confident in a world that keeps changing.
The process is simple: your coach listens to understand what matters most to you, then helps you tackle the issue that will make the biggest difference first. Don’t expect endless questions and nodding (though there’s a bit of that) — expect straight talk, practical tools and a few challenges along the way to help you move forward with clarity and control.
All sessions are online and focused entirely on your goals. You’ll also have access to short, practical videos to reinforce the ideas from your coaching sessions to build your toolkit over time.
